The Story...
Sometimes you walk into a house and you know that you are home. The space might not feel exactly how you would like it yet, but there is something in it that makes you feel safe. The feeling can not be explain- you just know, after seeing so many house, that you have arrived to your forever home!
Sometimes you walk into a house and you know that you are home. The rooms may not yet look the way you imagined, but something in the air already feels safe. That is where this story begins - not with a finished interior, but with a recognition. My client wanted to express her love to the French formality, the New Orleans ease, and a beautiful tribute to her African roots.
Bold details and steel framed arched doors welcome guest to the main foyer the way French Quarter galleries open to a courtyard do - the soft teal and sage wash wall and ceiling give a quiet echo of those classic New Orleans parlors. The opulent use of Gilt frames, gold sconces, mirrors and crystal chandelier are the touches that tells that nothing is shy from comfort glamour. Walking thru the space is an experiences, every space highlights a piece with history and traditions. The result is not a theme, it's a character.
